practicing shooting The Pogues live at The
Wiltern in Los Angeles for the majority of
their 20 October, 2006 performance without
the benefit of a view-screen (it burned out!),
until at last this most brilliant of holiday
anthems was obviously set to begin (a single
"snowflake" escaped from the rafters), at
which point the shoot became a tactical
exercise in employing the big guy's head as a
shield against the very bored African
American security guy, who clearly had no
interest in The Pogues and less in this shoot!
